It’s Easter time and some of the Jot Girls have been creating some Easter-y projects for us here in Jot Land.
First up is Sheree with this gorgeous step by step Easter card tutorial. HERRRRE’S SHEREE..
I love Easter! It’s always fun to put together little Easter gifts for friends, family, teachers or even your neighbours and I think a little handmade gift card is the perfect way to finish any gift. Today I’m sharing a little tag I made to add to this cute Easter basket.
First I cut a tag shape from some watercolour paper, and another tag shape slightly larger from some white cardstock. I used blue and green watercolours to create a background on the watercolour paper tag.
Next I used my Martha Stewart punches to cut two lengths of green grass and some little butterflies, my cloud punches to cut some white cardstock clouds and I hand cut some little coloured eggs. I also stamped the cute little bunny Lawn Fawn stamp onto some white cardstock and added a little colour with my watercolour paints.
Then it was time to put my tag together! I went to my sewing machine and sewed around the inside of my tag background. Next I arranged all of my cut pieces and adhered them into place using foam dots on some elements to add some dimension. My “Happy Easter to You” sentiment was simply printed from my computer…so easy! To finish the tag I then punched a hole in the top and tied on some pretty twine.
I found the cute little wire basket, shredded yellow paper, gingham ribbon and eggs all at my local supermarket. I tied my tag to the top of the Easter basket and it’s now ready to go! Madison has already decided this will be the perfect gift for her teacher this year.
Have a lovely Easter everyone…and happy crafting!
