Jot Girl Lauren Hender had a dilemma.
“Working on a new layout, I really wanted to find a way to tie the vibrant mist and cardstock colors I was using into my journaling. I find that it can be challenging at times to find the perfect alphabet stickers or pen color to journal with.”
Here’s Lauren’s tips on how she was able to coordinate her journaling strips with her layout colours.
Firstly, let’s take a look at Lauren’s delightfully lovely layout:
You can see Lauren’s journaling strips perfectly coordinate with the strong misting/inking colours she has chosen for her colour scheme. Lauren’s used the journaling strips at the bottom of her page and also added some strips around her photo too. AND the trick — she’s used her smart phone + a few photo editing apps to achieve the look she wants.
Lauren says, “The idea came to mind to photograph the cardstock that I was using in the layout, with my iphone,
and use photo editing apps to add filters and text to the image.”
Once I created the “strips” I then printed out my image onto white cardstock.
Cut each strip out..
and adhered each strip to my layout.
Using this tip not only ensures the perfect color match it is also an inexpensive way to add a unique feature to your project.”
Always smiling, busy mum Lauren loves jelly snakes and chocolate freckes (eaten together), windy days, coffee, stationery and social media. She’s addicted to tv show, Game of Thrones although admits she closes her eyes most of the time while watching and loves anything and everything as long as it’s paper. Read more about Lauren here.
