This is a really hard post to write.
And I have put it off for quite some time, trying to find the right words. But I don’t think I will ever find the right words so I am just jumping in because, well, it’s time.
Issue 21 of Jot will publish on 1 September and will be our very final issue.
It was proving harder to break up with Jot than I anticipated so this was a decision I made quite some time ago and announced to my beautiful Jot Girls, family and close friends but I couldn’t quite bring myself to make it public until now.
This has been an emotional decision because Jot is my baby. But the reality is.. pulling together each issue of Jot (and each Mood Board and all that goes into building this brand) is an enormous task. Basically Jot has been a labour of love which has been okay but after five years, things are changing for me and I am headed down another, very different but exciting path.
This is about where my heart is.
I’ve been dabbling in the world of essential oils for some time now. Maybe you have seen the oils pop up on my personal instagram feed over the past few months… and some of you have started following my adventure on my new Instagram account Kim Archer – Mindful Living and my new Facebook Mindful Living public page. Some of you have even jumped on board the oily adventure with me and joined my team and started your own essential oils adventure (thank you).
doTERRA has come along unexpectedly late in 2017 and has drawn me in big time. The oils have changed life in the Archer household in such an incredibly positive way. I love them. They align with what I care about and stand for. They’ve led me down a path I wasn’t expecting but a path that I can’t imagine not continuing along. And I am going to be focusing on creating a business from them.
Already my oils business is taking on a life of its own as things are gaining momentum big time and my team is growing and the oily love is spreading. And it took a while for me to realise that IT’S OKAY TO PIVOT.
It’s okay to change course.
It’s okay to move along a new, unknown path.
I have been involved in the scrapbook industry since 2004. I have had incredible opportunities, I’ve made incredible friends and I have always been so fortunate to be surrounded by amazing people who have supported me 100%.
Issue 21 will be our FINALE issue.. and the Jot Girls and I have been intent on giving Jot the send off it deserves. We have worked hard on this issue and I am forever grateful for my team – they have been sad of course (change is hard when you aren’t initiating the change!) but they have been so supportive of me. We’ve had many conversations, both on our Jot Girls group and privately and this message from Natalie summed up the unwavering support these girls have for me.. “It’s important that you do something you’re passionate about. For a long time that was Jot and it was and is the best publication around. Nothing beats it’s quality! But when times and passions change then it’s absolutely ok that you do too. Love you!!”
It will be bittersweet releasing Jot one last time to our readers on 1 September 2018 – thank you to all of you for supporting me, Jot and my Jot Girls for the past five years. It’s been an incredible ride and a beautiful adventure.
**Jot the finale issue will be available to view for free until 31 December 2018. I am currently working on my new website kimarcher.com.au which will be launching very soon. This will be home to my oils business as well as house our back issues of Jot (for now).
