Now Closed – we will be announcing our winner very soon)
A new mini challenge.
Gail from Greatest View has packed up some of her lovely flair buttons and shipped them off for some of the Jot girls to play with. AND we have a super duper showcase to share with you today PLUS a challenge and the opportunity to win a prize pack from Gail also.
Our theme — The Greatest View. Now this theme can be anything from literally scrapping a photo of a wonderful view somewhere or could be a layout celebrating an event and your view of it, or even an everyday moment that is a great view.
Our challenge opens today, 18 October 2013 and runs until Monday 28 October so you have just TEN days to get your challenge entry in.
Let’s take a look at what the girls have created ..
Amanda Hall – The Jot Team
Amanda says, “In this layout I have taken ‘the greatest view’ to mean ‘the big picture’. I think we can all be guilty of being wrapped up in our lives and not counting our blessings; being grateful for what we have right in front of our eyes. The flair badges were perfect additions to the page as they complimented the meaning of the journalling and the photo of us all together as a family – life captured and snapshot.”
Chantalle McDaniel – Greatest View Design Team
Chantalle says, “I never expected the struggles I would face, trying to conceive the second time around. This is a view that nearly eluded me. One of the greatest for every expectant mother.”
Yana Smakula – The Jot Team
Yana says, “As I was looking through some old photos on my computer I found this one of the Santa Monica Pier I took last winter while me and my hubby were on vacation in USA. It has a remarkable view of an ocean. I’ve always wanted to live near one and the place on the photo seems to be a perfect spot.”
Anna Allan – The Jot Team
Anna says, “I based my ‘greatest view’ on a moment. Some of the greatest views happen in a moment unique to that particular place and time. Looking into the happy face of my little one as she experienced the wonderment of an afternoon at the beach – watching her as she splashed in the water, played in the sand and felt it scrunch between her toes were special moments forever recorded in time and in my Mummy memory bank. Seeing the joy on her face was the greatest view!”
Kim Jeffress – The Jot Team + Greatest View Design Team
Kim says, “I based my story around this photo of my son at Disneyland in January this year….Just a week earlier he had been in hospital after having emergency surgery for a burst appendix. It was a scary time for us as we were in another country, with no idea about hospitals or the health system. It was a lucky coincidence the word “greatest” was in the patterned paper!”
Gail Lindner – Greatest View Design Team (and owner)
Gail says, “I couldn’t go past the very first peek at baby #3 as my greatest view at the moment. What a miracle!”
Leanne Allinson – Greatest View Design Team
Leanne says, “My Greatest View, from where I stand, is watching my children make choices from the lessons I have taught them. Being their mother is one of my greatest rewards, for which I am thankful for every day.”
Melinda Spinks – Greatest View Design Team
Melinda says, “Music forms a big part of my family and a song I hear being hummed and sung around the house is Life’s a Climb by Miley Cyrus… which lead me to a line she spoke during her movie that became a very fitting title for my layout… ‘Life’s a Climb, But The View is Great’. ..”
Kerryn Lawson – Greatest View Design Team
Kerryn says, “My family are my life. Every time I look at them they fill my heart with joy, love, pride and contentment. They are my Greatest View.”
Stephanie Bryan – The Jot Team
Steph says, “The Greatest View flair I received had the most wonderful hashtag words! I picked a few of my favorites and chose this photo of my two kids in the bathtub. They love the water and it truly makes them so happy….which makes me happy. Nothing better than bath time to my kids. The flair summed it up perfectly….#happy #best for sure!”
Sharmaine Kruijver – The Jot Team
Sharmaine says, “I’ve used two flair from (my all time favourite) the “Everyday Hashtag” pack and threw in a flair from “The Story” pack. For my page I wanted to use a bigger photo because I had a load of journaling that needed balancing out. One of my favourite things to do right now is punch semicircles out of the sides of my photo, and then fill them with flair.”
Wendy Morris – The Jot Team
Wendy says, “I titled my layout “This Great View” from vacation time with the fiance this month + an added of quality time with my mom and sister. I truly had the three people in my life who I love with so much of my heart, who truly inspire me, and are the light to my soul. Our time together was a few hours (with my mom & sister) but the highlight of my month for their visit to the Gulf coast. My fiance cooked an amazing spaghetti dinner (from scratch) for them and food + family, well now that’s a beautiful combination and “great view”. Agreed.”
