And let’s take a look at what our inspiring Jot Girls came up with this month using the Mood Board.
Mardi says, “It’s tricky when you are the ‘mood board chooser’… what if you cant actually work with what you choose..eeek
So I was inspired by the colours and the paper I used was out of a magazine I bought in Germany (called Flow) it is full of beautiful images and papers. I also loved the florals… the white leaves from the cushion and the gorgeous block numbers. I wanted to include quite a bit of journaling with this layout but it felt unbalanced with journaling visible….so its added to a tag and tucked in alongside the numbers.”
Amanda says, “I was initially inspired by the gorgeous retro colours that just screamed “MARDI” to me – what a brilliant representation of someone’s style! The bird with the hanging circles, birds, the floral and leaf elements, plus the numbers and the script font were all incorporated on my page. ”
Anna says, “I absolutely LOVED this mood board, however…when I went to create with it – I stumbled and fumbled. I had very certain ideas about what I wanted to do with my page but I couldn’t seem to get it to go right when I actually went to create it! As a result, my page has kinda become a mish-mash of my ideas but completely different to my initial vision. It has the content that I wanted, the design just went in a completely different direction. Meh…c’est la vie!
SIDENOTE: The shoes I am wearing in my photo are one of my faves. Thought I’d inject more colour into my shoe-life this year and I’m loving it! haha!” (We love your red shoes Anna 🙂
Leanne says, “I completely fell in love with the colour range in the September Mood Board and wanted to include as many of the gorgeous elements as possible. The text font, the numbers and also the floral emblems inspired me to document an outdoorsy story where my youngest didn’t want to be included in our “family” photo!”
Sharmaine says, “Pushed myself to stay with the softer colours (which is way outside my comfort zone!). Loved the colours you picked Mardi and the mood board is just inspiringly wonderful!”
Aimee says, “I made a card with two of my favourite collections – Basic Grey’s Mint Julep and Shimelle’s first collection. I was able to incorporate both the colour theme and the floral trend, but rather than take it to a retro Scandinavian place, I was aiming for retro glam rock tattoo vibe. Yeah… I think I might trademark that 😉 “
Kim says, “I’m not much of a floral girl but the beautiful patterns in this mood board really drew me in.I combined some of the new Heidi Swapp Project life cards with the new Washi tape and stickers with the vintage September Skies pattern paper for a funky look!”
Natalie says, “The mixing and matching of florals and number embellishments is what inspired me in this Mood Board. The colours I found a little challenging as I don’t have a lot of dark blue and red in my stash, but never fear – the Minc machine came to the rescue and I foiled my butterfly in that stunning red to create the centrepiece of my card.”
Sooo.. what are YOU going to make this month?
